In Newspaper - Proposal
Probably, i have already posted this before??... I can't remember. This was in my draft email. So i decide to post it... Enjoy below....
If your're a guy in a serious relationship, these could be the most important words you will ever say to your significant other besides "I love you". Asking this question will change your life forever and it's not an offer you can easily retract, so think hard before you ask.
ARE YOU READY?
There is no hard and fast rule as to when is a good time to propose. Some may need only a few months to know they want to spend the rest of their lives with that someone. Others prefer to take the slow route to the altar. Even if both of you have already discussed the possibility of getting maried, be a gentleman and formally propose to her.
WAYS TO PROPOSE
Singapore must be the only place on earth where "let's buy an HDB flat" equates to a marriage proposal. Come on, guys, there are other creative and more romantic ways to pop the questions. Read on, if you are clueless.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Proposing on occasions like Valentine's Day is a no-brainer. The romance factor is already built in - just throw in the ring and go on bended knee and you're done. Other special occasions could be days that are significant to both of you, for example, the anniversary of your first date or a birthday.
PRIVATE OR PUBLIC
Don't plan anything that involves more than the two of you if you haven't got and exhibitionist streak. You could ask while strolling along the beach, enjoying beautiful scenery or having a romantic dinner. Asking casually over a plate of char kway teow at hawker centre may be private, but it fails miserably on the romantic factor. If she doesn't mind being the center of attraction, and you want the whole world to know, the go ahead and book that full-page advertisement in the newspaper or unfurl that banner down her office building.
ONE OF A KIND
You could also make the proposal special by using a unique talent of yours. You could write a song and sing the proposal. Or how about making a video of you proposing and getting her to watch it? Another idea is to construct a crossword puzzle with the answers as the proposal. If you have artistic flair, you could design a T-shirt with that question printed on it and give it to her. Or you could bake a cake and write the question on the icing. Just don't put the ring inside the cake. The last thing you want is for your beloved to swallow the ring or chip a tooth.
SAY IT RIGHT
There may be four simple words to say, but they may not come out so fluently if you are nervous. Put in some practice time in private and learn to say it with confidence and in the right tone of voice. I just kills the mood if she can't hear you and you have to repeat yourself.
